Cosmetics on eBay

The other day I was running low on my Ben Nye Banana Powder my normal beauty supplier was out of stock, I trawled the internet to no avail ahhhh I thought eBay; now ladies and gents you know we cannot live without our setting powder right! I was desperate so I decided to purchase the powder from eBay.

Now I have heard so many horror stories about shopping for make up on eBay on TV and read about them in magazines but I didn’t for one-second think it would happen to me. I perused eBay and saw Ben Nye Banana Power in abundance the prices varied so I purchased one avoiding the cheapest like the plague; you know what they say, “if it looks too good to be true it probably is!”

The powder I purchased was from an English seller and I noted the comments ‘manufacture sealed’ it arrived within two days brilliant I thought. Whilst using the powder I noticed my eyes were watering and my face was itchy, to top it off I was becoming oily within a couple of hours the few times I used it, which did not happen with the original Ben Nye Powder. I discontinued using the power and used an alternative powder whilst waiting for the Ben Nye to arrive.

With the new powder at hand you can clearly see the Ben Nye powder purchased from eBay was a lot lighter toned in colour and the powder was not as finely milled it had a funny scent which I didn’t notice having nothing to compare the eBay bought powder to at the time.

I have not had the contents of the eBay bought Ben Nye powder analysed by a laboratory but I am sure if I did, the result would not be good. Now I am not saying there are no reputable sellers on eBay I am just saying be careful out there.

I have since purchased Ben Nye Banana Powder from my normal beauty supplier this time around I bought a couple (running out again is not an option!)

In the picture attached, can you tell which Ben Nye Banana Powder is the eBay purchased one?
